Twenty years, one office, no drama.

Jay Inc took its present shape in 2005, when Jay & Vogel Inc. amalgamated with Mandy Botha Attorneys. The firm was renamed Jay Inc in 2006. It has practised from Lynnwood Glen, Pretoria, ever since.

Two directors run it, with sixty-two years of practice between them. Peter Jay, twenty-eight years in, handles criminal defence and litigation — bail, fraud, cybercrime, extradition, the matters where the first forty-eight hours decide a great deal. Mandy Jay, thirty-four years in, handles family, divorce and civil work, where the pace is slower and the stakes are just as personal.

That split is the whole reason the firm works. A criminal practice runs on availability and nerve. A family practice runs on patience and precision. Very few firms are honest about how different those two jobs are, and most are quietly better at one than the other. Here they are simply separate people.

We are a small firm and we intend to stay one. You will deal with the director handling your matter, not with a name on a letterhead you never meet.
